Phillipe Starck Transcription, 3D Design
In order to create a Marquette which not only referenced my brief but also took a considerable amount of inspiration from Philippe Starck's work, I decided to create a 3D, circular pronged design, similar to Starck's famous lemon squeezer design. Using wood as a base again, I decided to create two circular, pronged designs, which would slot together in order to create a 3D object. Next, I began adding steam-punk elements, such as a simple copper cable exo-skeletal structure and some circuit boarding. Then, using light bulbs and their holders, as well as cables and various Circuit board components, I was able to create a robotic/space ship design which bare resemblance to Starck's work. Finally, I sprayed the Marquette in Grey Primer, allowing me to emphasise the Metal plating on the sides of the design, as well as make a hard-wearing mechanical finish on my design.
